Striped bass truly embody the title of “every man’s fish”: you can catch them sitting on the shoreline, patroling the shallows with a fly rod, wading the surf under the stars or running the coast in a vessel. Stripers have a storied management, one that includes a visit to rock bottom and a miraculous rebound. ASGA has engaged in every striped bass management issue in a meaningful and productive manner since our inception. We have worked tirelessly to ensure striped bass anglers are informed about this beloved fishery and that they understand the impact their voices can have on its management. In recent years, the ASMFC Striped Bass Board has taken important steps to ensure striped bass rebuild by 2029, but ASGA remains deeply concerned with the current age distribution of the stock and five (5) straight years of poor spawns.

Our Association remains committed to unifying the striped bass community along the East Coast. We’ve collaborated with talented graphic designer Offthegrid John to create a new performance hat for our bass addicts.
